PREFACE 

This Policy Handbook of The School Board of Palm Beach County, Florida is a revision authorized by the School Board May 26, 1971. Under Eldridge R. Collins, former Consultant, School Administration of the Florida State Department of Education, a group of thirty-four members of county staff, instructional and noninstructional personnel of the county school system began the revision in a three-week workshop project during the summer of 1971. Special meetings were held with high school students and officers of various county organizations, particularly P.T.A. and P.T.O., to solicit their comments. Thereafter, this compilation of Palm Beach County Board policies was approved by the board after careful consideration. It is hoped that this compilation will be of assistance to school officials and personnel whose roles in the school system make necessary a familiarity with school board policies, and also be of assistance to interested citizens.
