Policy 3.40Year of Service Defined

  1. Year of Service. The minimum time in determining a year of service shall be actual service including compensated leave, exclusive of all other types of leave and holidays for a total of more than one-half of the number of days required for the normal contractual period of service for the position held.

  2. Year of Credit. A total of more than half (1/2) of the number of days required for the normal appointive period of service for the position held shall be the minimum requirement for a year's credit. Compensable leave shall be considered a part of the required days of service for credit. Monetary gains for an employee under the provisions of this policy shall be subject to approval by the Board.
