Student Illness or Accident

1. The following procedure shall be followed when a student becomes ill or is injured while at school:



1. First aid shall be rendered by the nearest person with first-aid training.

2. The parents or guardian of the student shall be notified.

3. If neither parent nor a responsible adult can be reached, the student shall be maintained in an appropriate supervised location in the school center until the parent or responsible adult picks up the student.

4. In the event of an emergency of serious nature, when time is of the essence, the student shall be taken to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Discretion shall be used in moving a critically injured student without medical advice.

2. The accepted student accident form shall be completed.
