Policy 6.25Insurance Advisory Committee

There shall be established two insurance advisory committees: The Employees Insurance Advisory Committee and the Industry Insurance Specifications and Procurement Advisory Committee.

  1. Employees Insurance Advisory Committee (EIAC):
    1. EIAC is established to monitor the district's Group Health Insurance Program.

    2. EIAC will meet on a regular basis with at least one meeting each quarter.

    3. EIAC shall consist of employees who are also members of the following groups:

      1. Principals' Association
      2. Assistant Principals' Association
      3. Staff Association
      4. Association of Educational Secretaries (AESOP)
      5. Firemen and Oilers (IBF&O)
      6. Classroom Teachers Association
      7. Superintendent's Designee

    4. The Superintendent's designee member will be selected by the Superintendent and the employee group representative members by their respective groups to serve one-year terms beginning September 1 of each year.

  2. Industry Insurance Specifications and Procurement Advisory Committee (IISPAC):

    1. IISPAC is established to provide advice on insurance coverages, specifications and procurement.

    2. IISPAC shall be composed of five professional insurance persons representing broad areas of experience. During the time an individual is a member of the Insurance Advisory Committee neither the individual nor any firm represented by the individual shall be allowed to bid on any School Board insurance contracts. In the event there is a split vote on any matter for consideration, the administrator of the insurance program shall be eligible to cast the tie-breaking vote. The members shall be appointed by the Superintendent to serve one year terms beginning September 1 of each year.

    3. IISPAC will meet at the direction of the Superintendent or designee as set forth in the call for meetings.
