Policy 8.09Adult Education

  1. All adult education shall be under the direction of the Superintendent.

  2. The Board may establish and maintain public school facilities for the educational needs of adults. Any person 16 years of age or older, and legally withdrawn from the elementary or secondary school last attended, may attend adult education on a day or evening basis. In addition, any student in grades 9-12, remaining in the secondary day school program who wishes to enroll in the adult education program to pursue a required credit or elective credit and/or noncredit course may do so upon the written permission of the student's day school principal or the principal's appointed representative. The adult education facilities shall be open to all persons who have a need to further their continuing lifetime education goals.

  3. An adult high school student may use the library facilities and check out materials under rules and regulations established by each center.
