| Vocational Entry-Level Examinations |
Policy: A state-approved entry-level examination to assess mastery of basic skills shall be administered to all students who enroll in a post secondary adult vocational program consisting of four hundred fifty (450) or more clock hours of instruction. Such examinations shall be administered within the first six (6) weeks of a student's admission to the program.
Those students lacking the minimum level of basic skills shall be referred to appropriate vocational preparatory instruction for a structured program of basic skills, which may include English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL).
A student shall not receive a certificate of program completion until he/she has demonstrated the mastery of the basic skills required in the state-approved curriculum frameworks for the vocational program.
Students classified as exceptional, pursuant to Section 228.041(22), Florida Statutes, shall be provided reasonable test-taking accommodations or may be exempted from the provisions of Section 239.213, Florida Statutes, and this Policy.
